BROADCAST SIGNAL INTRUSION // FEATURE FILM // QUEENSBURY PICTURES

BROADCAST SIGNAL INTRUSION is a forthcoming feature film, written by Tim Woodall & Phil Drinkwater.

While logging tapes of decades-old TV broadcasts, videographer James comes across a surreal and disturbing clip of what appears to be an imprisoned android. He believes it’s the product of a mysterious broadcast signal hacking, and his discovery takes a sinister turn when he tracks down similar broadcast intrusions that send him on an obsessive mission. Now James must confront two very real possibilities: that the videos may be clues to a crime beyond all comprehension, and that whoever was behind them may be very aware that James is coming uncomfortably close to the truth.

The film is described as an unsettling journey into our collective technological nightmares - "part-Zodiac and part-Lost Highway by way of Aphex Twin" - and "a nerve-shredding horror film that confronts our deepest, darkest fears of both man and machine."

Starring Harry Shum Jr. and Chris Sullivan, it will be released later this year.

Clive's saying nothing.

Commissioned by Ctrl.Alt.Shift - a movement for a new generation fighting social and global injustice - HIV: THE MUSICAL aims to expose and satirise the stigma surrounding HIV.

Shot as a series of vlogs by a young playwright, James McKenzie (Martin Freeman) quickly finds his artistic integrity being challenged by the arrogance and ignorance of Myles Davis (Julian Barratt), a theatre producer determined to hijack his script and turn it into something far more salacious.

A host of British actors and comedians have teamed up with Shelter to help spread the word about our campaign. Sean Lock, Mike Fielding, Oliver Chris and Sally Bretton star in a short film about the danger posed by rogue landlords.

Despite our amusing script and the characters featured within, the horrifying conditions shown in the film are the sad reality for thousands of people in this country.

Absolutely anyone can find themselves in a situation where they are homeless or at risk of losing their home. Sometimes all it can take are a few poor decisions, some bad luck or an unexpected change in circumstances. And a housing problem is not always easy to overcome – life can get complicated with things like addiction, debt and mental health problems. Which is why Launchpad exists.

Launchpad is Reading’s leading homelessness prevention charity, providing vital information and support for individuals, couples and families who don’t have stable place to live or are at risk of losing their home.

We worked with Launchpad to write and create a film project starring and crewed by service users of the charity. A darkly comic portrayal of the petty but significant world of Elvis impersonators, I WAS THE ONE follows an ageing hero's desperate attempts to stifle a young pretender's claim to the social club throne - and to reinstate himself as the last of the small town playboys.
